Callouts 54, 55, and 56 - 9th July 2019

At 18:22 on Tuesday, July 9th, Dublin & Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team and Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team responded to the first of three callouts that evening. Callout 54 was a tasking from the National Ambulance Service (NAS) to assist them with a patient who had sustained a lower leg injury in Barnaslingan Wood. Mountain rescue (MR) personnel assessed and treated the patient before they were evacuated by stretcher to a waiting ambulance.


At 20:32, shortly after callout 54 was stood down, the teams were tasked by An Garda Síochána to assist with two hillwalkers who became disorientated near Cruagh Wood. The pair were located using Sarloc Rescue and MR personnel were deployed to meet them and accompany the walkers back to their car.

At 21:59,while MR personnel were returning to base, the third tasking of the evening was received from ambulance control. Callout 56 was a request to assist a NAS crew with a patient who had sustained a dislocated shoulder. MR advanced paramedics treated the patient evacuated them to a waiting ambulance.


Callout 56, the third callout of the evening and seventh in as many days was stood down at 22:42. Our thanks to the National Ambulance Service for their assistance.
