Callout 75 - 17th August 2021 – Camara Hill / Lugnaquilla

At 13:11hrs, Dublin/Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team and Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue were tasked by An Garda Síochána (AGS) for an injured walker located between Camara Hill and Lugnaquilla. The casualty was part of a group of 11, two of which stayed with him while the rest made there descent. Conditions on scene at the site of the casualty were of “extremely low visibility” hence evacuation by helicopter was not an option. The patient was treated on scene by MR personnel and then evacuated by stretcher down Camara Hill and put into a Mountain Rescue vehicle. From there onto Rescue Base, where they were handed over to a waiting NAS Ambulance and Crew.

Team stood down at 17:47hrs.

Duration of incident: 4 hours 36 minutes.
