At 09:03 on Wednesday, July 3rd, Dublin & Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team and Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Síochána in a missing person search.
Mountain rescue (MR) search managers formulated a search plan while MR personnel immediately began searching the area. Shortly before 16:00 the missing person's remains were discovered. We express our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the deceased.
The operation was stood down at 17:30. Our thanks to Search and Rescue Dog Association (Ireland), South Eastern Mountain Rescue Association, and An Garda Síochána for their assistance.
