At 19:50 on Wednesday, May 22nd, Dublin & Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team and Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Síochána to come to the assist an injured walker near Curtlestown Wood. The walker sustained a lower leg injury while hiking with friends.
Mountain rescue (MR) medics assessed and treated the injured walker at the scene. Once treated the walker was stretchered to a forest track, and from there transported in stretcher-capable four-wheel-drive vehicle to the forest entrance and transferred to a waiting ambulance. The operation was stood down at 22:38.
