Callout 39 - 5th May 2019 - Glenmalure

At 12:48, on Sunday, May 5th, Dublin & Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team and Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Síochána to assist a climber in Glenmalure.

The climber sustained multiple injuries after falling a significant distance from a crag. Mountain rescue (MR) and National Ambulance Service (NAS) advanced paramedics treated the climber at the scene. Irish Coast Guard helicopter, Rescue 116, was also tasked to the incident. Due to the terrain, an airlift from the incident site was impossible. Once treated, the patient was packaged into a stretcher, carried to a waiting ambulance, and transported to hospital for further care. The operation was stood down at 15:04.

Our thanks to National Ambulance Service (NAS), Rescue 116, and An Garda Síochána for their assistance.
