At 18:13 on Sunday, March 3rd, Dublin & Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team and Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by the An Garda Síochána to rescue a number of people from the Sally Gap.
Ten people were rescued after a sudden change in weather conditions left four vehicles stranded by snow. All four vehicles travelled to the incident site before weather warnings were issued. Mountain rescue (MR) personnel evacuated all 10 people to Roundwood village, from where they made necessary transport arrangements. The incident was stood down at 19:49.
