At 14:30hrs, Dublin / Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team and Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue were tasked by An Garda Síochána to a report of a lower leg injury in a group of hill walkers while coming near the end of the Spinc loop. Once on scene, Mountain rescue personnel assessed the patient and administered pain relief. When the patient was made comfortable they were then packaged and stretchered down to awaiting NAS ambulance and crew via the Zig Zag route to the miner’s village.
Team was stood down at 17:54hrs.
Duration of incident: 3 hours, 24 minutes.
