At 19:56hrs, Dublin / Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team and Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue were tasked by An Garda Síochána to a report of a a lone hiker who became disorientated in the vicinity of Stoney Top. Weather conditions were extremely poor with strong winds and heavy rain.
After some investigation a plan was put together and the information was relayed to the MR personnel on the ground and a Mountain Rescue Response Vehicle was able to pick up the casualty who was close to Glenmacnass Waterfall. After being examined by a MR medic he was returned to his car.
Team was stood down at 21:57hrs.
Duration of incident: 2 hours, 1 minute.
