At 14:52, on Friday, April 19th, Dublin & Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team and Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by the National Ambulance Service (NAS) to assist with the evacuation of a walker who sustained a head injury on the Sugarloaf.
Mountain rescue (MR) and Greystones Coast Guard Unit personnel secured a landing area for the Irish Coast Guard helicopter Rescue 116, which had also been tasked. MR personnel secured the injured walker in a stretcher and transported the patient to Rescue 116. The operation was stood down at 15:58.
