Gardaí contacted the team at aprox 4.30am to ask for our assistance with the local milkman who was
stuck in 1 meter high snow drifts on the road between Roundwood and Newtown..
The team sent its 4x4 and asses the conditions. On arrival
it was quickly determined that a 4x4 was not going to be powerful
enough to tow it out. The snow was being blown out from the
fields and causing the snow drifts otherwise the road was fully
accessible..
We tried to tow him out but to no avail the team contacted the Gardaí direct
and explained that we were of no great assistance and they needed
to send out a recovery truck. The team offered the driver a lift but he opted to stay
with his truck, there were houses close by so he was in no great danger
the team informed the Gardaí and then left at approx 6am...
