Military Road - Glencree

As the teams 4x4 vehicle was transporting a motorist to safety from the Military Road in Glencree, the team received another call from the Gardai requesting the team’s assistance with another stranded motorist in the same area where the first person found themselves in difficultly.
Mountain Rescue strongly urges motorists to avoid the high ground areas, such as the Military Road, Glencree and the Sally Gap area as these roads are extremely treacherous. Motorists are putting their own lives in danger as well as team members who have to come out to rescue those who find themselves stranded.
