At approximately 09:40hrs on Friday 8th January, Wicklow's Mountain rescue services were tasked by the ambulance control, to assist a ambulance to remove a sick person from their home in Enniskerry. Due to the icy, snowy conditions the ambulance control requested the Dublin & Wicklow MRT and the Glen of Imaal Red Cross MRT to go on stand-by. The ambulance was able to reach the casualty location without the aid of MRT 4x4 vehicles and the team's were stood down.
