The Dublin & Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team and neighbouring Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team were alerted by Gardaí just before lunchtime on the 20th January to an injured walker requiring assistance in the vicinity of Crone Wood and Maulin Mountain in County Wicklow.
The casualty, a 58 year old female, had slipped and sustained a lower leg injury while out walking with a group of youths. Conditions were very cold with snow and sleet falling at the time. The casualty was attended to by Mountain Rescue team members before being transported from the hillside to an awaiting Eastern Regional Ambulance Service ambulance.
