The name might sound like a specialised group of Red Arrows but these babies allow for a different kind of aerial display. When you’re flying downhill going hell for leather you’ll be glad of the contragrip sole. It gives great grip on all sorts of terrain and felt equally secure going up or down hill even on muddy trails. Obviously they won’t stop you going over the edge but you have to take some of the responsibility! They have a very snug fit with lots of good cushioning for extra support and protection on those fast finishes. The quicklace asymmetrical lacing system means a single pull for a very snug fit. There’s even a little pocket to tuck the lace away so you’ve nothing to worry about except stopping at the bottom. I’ve used the quick lace system before but one downside to this one is that it seems to loosen a bit after a while. An extra twist in the lace sorts this but it is annoying. On Irish hills and trails you’re going to get wet so the quick drying breatheable mesh upper will ensure maximum comfort. For those of you who prefer to keep the water to a minimum there is a version available with a waterproof lining. Just in case you weren’t ‘soled’ already the XT Wings have a rubberised toe box for added protection. It’s a great trail shoe what ever you like to run on. Basically the only mistake you could make is NOT putting your foot in it! For more info or to purchase item Click Here!
