Youth rescued from the Spinc

Today, Monday 27th September, at approximately midday, a 14 year-old student fell while on a school outing to the Wicklow Mountains National Park. The group, from a Dublin school, was walking along the 'Spinc' route above Glendalough valley, when the teenager fell and severely gashed his knee. His teachers and leaders were able to attend to his wounds, but Mountain Rescue was called to assist in getting him safely off the mountainside. The Dublin & Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were put on Stand-By in the early hours of Sunday morning to assist the Donegal Mountain Rescue Team with an extended search for a man who had become disoriented while walking in mountainous terrain.
