Standy & Callout for the team - Sunday 19th September 2010The Dublin & Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were put on Stand-By in the early hours of Sunday morning to assist the Donegal Mountain Rescue Team with an extended search for a man who had become disoriented while walking in mountainous terrain. Team members prepared to travel to Donegal to help search for him, but were 'stood down' later in the morning when the man was found safe and in good spirits. That afternoon the team were again called into action. A male youth had been blown off his feet while hillwaking in Carlingford, and had sustained a head injury. The youth was brought from the hill by his group and Mountain Rescue personnel and was subsequently transported to hospital. |
