 Mountain Rescue Runners Complete Wicklow Way in a DayEight members of the Dublin & Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team completed their fundraising run of the Wicklow Way on Saturday the 12th of June with a finish time of just over 9 hours and 40 minutes. The team came 16th out of 32 teams running the Wicklow Way from Kilmashogue in the Dublin Mountains to Shillelagh in Co Wicklow in the annual Irish Mountain Running Association Wicklow Way Relay Race.Team members, a number of whom are new to hill running, competed against athletic clubs and seasoned mountain runners to complete the 127 km route. Teams also climbed 3200m over the course of the day. The team were also very fortunate to have their running gear sponsored by the Great Outdoors Dublin. The team are having a draw on the 2nd of July as part of their fundraising efforts with over 2000 Euro in prizes to be won. The top prize is a night for two in the Shelbourne Hotel Dublin and many local businesses are sponsoring prizes including the Glendalough Hotel, Outdoor Evolution Blessington, the Glenmalure Lodge, the Coachhouse Pub and the Wicklow Heather.
