 Callout - Saturday 6th November, 2010 - Lugnaquilla, Co. WicklowOn Saturday 6th November, at approx. 7pm three hillwalkers descending from Lugnaquillia (Leinster's highest mountain) became disoriented and lost in the forests of the Ow valley. With the onset of darkness, the walkers decided to contact Mountain Rescue. Several parties were dispatched to search the trails in the area, and the group was located within 90 minutes of the first call for assistance. Mountain Rescue always appreciate an early call for assistance (as the walkers didi this evening) rather than waiting until the situation is much worse, and would always encourage members of the public to ring rather than not.
