At 3pm today, Sunday 16th January, a lone hillwalker in his 50's slipped near the summit rocks on Lugnaquillia. It is believed that he may have fractured his kneecap. Mountain Rescue Teams are en route to the summit to attend to the man. The weather is changeable and may not allow for helicopter access.
Other hillwalkers are staying with the injured man until further help arrives.
