5 Team Members Compete in Wicklow Way Trail Race

Five members of the Dublin & Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team (DWMRT) completed the Irish Mountain Running Association (IMRA) Wicklow Way Trail Race on Saturday 26^th of March.  The race covers 26km and climbs 971m between the start at Ballinastoe Wood and finish in Glencullen.  Deputy Team Leaders David Butler and Fearghal Bracken, Team Member Brendan Lawlor and Probationary Team Members Gareth Little and Diarmuid O’Colmain all completed the race in under 3 hours. 

The best overall place went to Gareth Little who finished 48 out of 170 runners while Diarmuid O’Colmain placed first in his category.  A number of team members are also members of IMRA and compete regularly in IMRA races as well as participating in regular training hill runs.  Well done to the 5 team members who completed the race on Saturday.
