Glen Of Imaal Army Range

On Sunday 17th July 2011 at 3pm two walkers in their 30's requested assistance from Mountain Rescue. Both ourselves and the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team responded and assisted. The man and woman had strayed into the Glen of Imaal Artillery range operated by the Defence Forces. Lugnaquillia

At approximately 19.15hrs mountain rescue were alerted to a group of 3 who had become disorientated whilst descending Wicklow highest mountain Lugnaquillia. Both the Dublin/Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team and the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team responded and the 3 persons were located and and directed off them mountain to safety.

Three Rock Mountain

At approximately 20:30hrs the mountain rescue team was put on stand-by to assist the Gardaí and the local authority fire service in relation to a male hillwalker who had sustained a lower leg injury. The walker was situated close to a track and the gardaí on scene located the walker and the local authority fire service ambulance was able to transport the walker to hospital.

Lugnaquillia

A female hill runner who was suffering from dehydration and heat exhaustion was assisted by team members. The team members provided fluids and after cooling down the runner, mountain rescue personnel assisted them back to the race finish.
