At approximately 04:10hrs on New Year’s Day morning, the team received a call from the ambulance control centre. The ambulance control was sending an ambulance to one of the first new arrivals of 2010. The ambulance control requested the team send its 4x4 vehicle to backup the ambulance, in case the ambulance would have difficulty, in the snowy conditions and the treacherous road condition as a result of the prolonged cold snap that had gripped the country. The mother and baby were transported to hospital by the ambulance crew.
