At approximately 21:30hrs, the Gardai requested the assistance of the Dublin & Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team and the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team with stranded motorists at the Pier Gates, Lugalla, Co Wicklow. Both teams deployed 4x4 vehicles to assist the motorists due to hazardous road conditions due to snow and ice.
